Anpario staff have chosen Dementia UK as our 2023 Charity of the Year. Anpario will support fundraising efforts and charitable events over the course of this year to help raise both funds and awareness for the great work conducted by Dementia UK.
Dementia is an umbrella term for a range of progressive conditions that affect the brain. There are over 200 subtypes and causes of dementia, but the four most common include Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia and dementia with Lewy bodies. There are over 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK and this forecast to rise to over one million by 2025.
Dementia UK is a specialist dementia nurse charity, with nurses who provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. They help people living with dementia to stay independent for longer and support the people caring for them, so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days.
Supporting and raising funds for this charity means these specialist nurses can provide a lifeline for more families affected by dementia.
