The Story of a Single Drop

This is the story of a single drop. Anpario takes great pride in the decades of research, manufacturing precision and strict quality processes that lead to the superior performance of the Orego-Stim product range. Sustainably delivering value, performance and higher profitability for producers worldwide.

From Process to Product

The natural Oregano Essential Oil (OEO) in Orego-Stim is extracted from Anpario’s exclusive oregano strain, cultivated organically in central Europe. From point of harvest through the unique extraction method and onward production processes, we protect the active properties in the natural oil to ensure a high-quality product every time.

Regular testing

Anpario take quality very seriously and testing starts before plants are harvested. Samples are taken from the crop to determine the levels of the main active ingredients, carvacrol, ρ-cymene and thymol, and at exactly the right time, the plants are harvested and brought to the distillery for oil extraction by steam distillation.

Anpario’s procedures of regular and routine testing of our oregano oil is essential and ensures that the Orego-Stim you buy is the same every time, avoiding undesirable variability.

Processing and manufacture

Significant research and expertise underpins the manufacture of the Orego-Stim product range, available in powder or liquid form.

Specially selected mineral carriers ensure a free-flowing and homogenous finished powder product. This is vital to any manufacturing process to allow even dispersion in the final feed. Orego-Stim Powder is then packed into foil bags and sealed to maintain the freshness over the two year shelf life. The selection of emulsifier and unique manufacturing process ensures our liquid formulation disperses easily and thoroughly in water for easy application.

Orego-Stim is unique as only the natural whole oil is used.

Orego-stim contains naturally occurring compounds which work in synergy to offer several well-documented properties and functions of OEO.

Consistency in every batch

Oregano Essential Oil used to produce Orego-Stim consists of 100+ naturally occurring active compounds, frequent monitoring ensures consistent quality batch after batch, which is vital to ensure product performance.

Vibriosis

Vibriosis is one of the most significant bacterial diseases affecting shrimp aquaculture worldwide, caused by pathogenic bacteria from the Vibrio genus such as V. parahaemolyticus, V. harveyi, V. alginolyticus, V. campbellii. These opportunistic pathogens are ubiquitous in marine and brackish environments and thrive in aquaculture systems, particularly under poor water quality, warmer temperatures, and stressful farming conditions (Harpeni et al., 2024; Chandrakala and Priya, 2017). Vibriosis is especially notorious for its association with some of the major bacterial diseases in shrimp aquaculture:

Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease (AHPND), formerly known as Early Mortality Syndrome (EMS), is caused by specific strains of V. parahaemolyticus that carry the PirA and PirB toxin genes, which lead to necrosis of the hepatopancreas, a crucial organ for digestion and immunity in shrimp (Yang et al., 2022; Amalia et al., 2024).

White Faeces Syndrome (WFS) is a multifactorial disease associated with infections caused by Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP), a microsporidian parasite, and Vibrio spp., particularly V. parahaemolyticus (Elias et al., 2023). EHP infects the hepatopancreas, disrupting nutrient digestion and absorption, leading to poor growth and excretion of undigested food as white faeces. Additionally, while Vibrio infection can further exacerbate hepatopancreas dysfunction, its primary pathogenic mechanisms disrupt the gut through dysbiosis, mucosal damage, and inflammation.

Translucent Post-Larvae Disease (TPD) in shrimp is primarily associated with virulence factors produced by V. parahaemolyticus (VpTPD), notably Vibrio High Virulent Protein (VHVP)-1 and VHVP-2 (Liu et al., 2023). VpTPD disrupts the hepatopancreas and damages muscle tissue, leading to the loss of pigments and refractive proteins, which causes shrimp to exhibit a translucent appearance

The economic impact of vibriosis on the shrimp industry is substantial, with global losses reaching billions of pounds annually due to reduced growth rates, increased mortality, and the costs associated with disease management (Shinn et al., 2018; Dash et al., 2017). Shrimp are highly vulnerable to Vibrio infections, especially under high stocking densities, fluctuating water parameters, and inadequate biosecurity measures. The risk is further heightened by the emergence of antibiotic-resistant Vibrio strains, making treatment more challenging.

Effective control of vibriosis is crucial for sustainable shrimp farming. Implementing preventative measures such as optimal water quality management, balanced nutrition, and strict adherence to biosecurity protocols significantly reduces the risk of outbreaks (Chrisolite et al., 2025). Additionally, antibiotic-free alternatives, including phytogenic feed additives, are gaining recognition as sustainable solutions. As the shrimp industry continues to expand, understanding and mitigating the risks associated with Vibrio infections remain essential for ensuring productivity and profitability.

Orego-Stim Forte has been extensively researched to demonstrate its efficacy in supporting shrimp health and performance during Vibrio challenges. All constituents of natural OEO and QS work together to provide a complex mode of action and support against vibriosis in shrimp.
