POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Responsible for: N/A

 

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB
  • The role will offer a variation in work that will include maintenance – planned and reactive, projects and installations.
  • All tasks to be performed in line within Company and legal Health and Safety procedures.

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION – TASK RELATED
Maintenance Tasks

To ensure the following tasks as required are carried out:-

  • Day to day maintenance of all plant and machinery
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Ensuring that all logs and job sheets are filled in as required.
  • All reported faults are logged and acted on.
  • Check sheets filled in.
  • Post work sheets filled in.
  • Breakdowns kept to a minimum.

 

Sourcing and stocking spare parts

  • Ensure replacement parts are available as required, when following the planned maintenance plan.
  • Maintain a list of consumables and suppliers.

 

Breakdowns

  • Taking instructions from the Maintenance Manager, ensure we minimise down time during plant breakdowns at Manton Wood Mill.

 

Planned Maintenance

  • Following the planned maintenance schedule and after agreement with the Maintenance Manager carry out the tasks requested to minimise breakdowns and loss of production.

 

Modifications

  • Carry out any modifications required and in accordance with all safety rules and regulations.

 

Safety

  • Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality and Environmental Management System and Health and Safety Policies.
  • To ensure all duties are carried out safely and with the highest concern for others on the site.
  • To work to current Health and Safety regulations and to wear appropriate safety equipment.
  • To be aware of handling instructions for Raw Materials and of Finished Product MSDS sheets.
  • To alert the other staff when a safety issue is perceived.
  • To undertake responsibilities in emergency response/crisis situations as required.
  • Ensure all plants are isolated before carrying out any work.
  • Ensure permits to work are used and followed.

 

Other Duties

  • Maintain all working areas in a clean and safe condition to protect products from cross contamination from equipment.
  • Attend day release college.
  • Hold regular progress meetings with Maintenance Manager/college.
